This hamam offers erotic massages, which is not made clear from the options presented at the reception. Despite speaking Turkish and having visited hamams across Turkey, it was not clear to me from the options outlined at the reception - neither in English nor Turkish - that this hamam was in fact an erotic service until having the massage.
Until then it simply came across as a small and slightly strange hamam. Once in the massage room it is clear why this hamam comes across as unusual. Strangest of all was the presence of two young boys in the care of the masseuse, hanging out in the waiting area. From there, they could watch a succession of clients entering the massage room. Whether clients attend knowing that it is an erotic service or not, the presence of the children either makes the erotic overtures even more strange and unexpected, or - if one has attended specifically for the happy ending - perhaps unwelcome and distracting.
Not as atmospheric as ones in Turkey, but not to be missed if one has a couple of hours to spare in Nicosia. The interior is lovely for sure, but the wash was a bit too rushed I think. Not sure I saw anywhere advertising a massage?
Difficult to ask questions as no one spoke English. Visited a mixed sex session. Paid for sauna and scrub. There were four people on the hot stone slab already so no room for us to lay down, only to douse ourselves in the side room with hot water. Waited nearly 90 minutes for our scrub. I think because the masseuse had already done four others and she had disagreed with the previous couple about what service they had paid for, she wasn't too happy.
