I'd appreciate a PM here if anybody has any info. There is supposed to be a fair-sized gringo community there. I expect to be able to continue my "missionary" work in Matagalpa as I've done in Costa Rica for so many years.

Be sure to call for a reservation. The place can be full. The climate in Granada is a lot like Jaco - - - hot and humid. That's why I like Matagalpa better.
Tue Dec 26, 2: Matagalpa is a great place to visit or live. I would say that is a bit hotter than san jose as its a ft lower. There is a strip club type place on the highway just before you come into town. Overall the food is lots better in nicaragua so there are some good restaurants including some steak places.
